I know that many female fans prefer to adopt the term Brony instead; while this originated as a name for male fans of the show (hence "bro"), it's got unisex connotations now. It's all personal preference what you call yourself, and there's no right or wrong - they're essentially just two terms for the same thing! c:

Disclaimer: I know plenty of people on this website are utterlybutterly tired of MLP-related stuff popping up all over the place; if you're not a fan, I fully appreciate how tiresome it can be!
But as a long-standing stamper and non-rabid genuine fan of MLP:FiM, I created this to reflect my own interests and for other fans to share on their pages if they wish. All I ask is that users, fans or not, act in respect. By all means voice your appreciation, but I don't want this to be a place of argument! Remember that all comments get sent to my personal Message Centre which I have to go through every day.
