Artist's Comments
In 2004, a huge downpour caused catastrophic flooding in Boscastle, a beautiful harbour village in Cornwall. Torrents of water from the surrounding hills caused the area's two rivers to burst at their confluence, and the picturesque cobbled street featured above would have been several feet under dirty floodwater. Four years on, you can hardly tell that this road was once impassable.
We had been travelling for 6 hours before reaching Boscastle at 8am on Saturday morning, and did a bit of exploration. ^w^ We found three beautiful kitties roaming this street, who were more than happy to pose for a few photos. :3 |
