Meet me under the willow tree
It's our own summer shade;
The sweet, warm grass between our toes
Inside the emerald cave.

Kiss me under the willow tree
The leaves an autumn gold;
They flurry by as you walk me home
Before the night grows cold.

Hold me under the willow tree
We'll watch the winter snow;
Sharing warmth and sharing love
I'll pray you never go.

Marry me under the willow tree
Spring blossoms above our heads;
Birdsong follows the eternal vows
As you carry me to our bed.
This poem really came out of nowhere!
The way I imagined it while writing, it follows two childhood sweethearts who used to play in their 'emerald cave' as children, fell in love as teenagers - meeting there perhaps in secret - and returned to their favourite spot to marry. Although it's written by season as if it all happens within just one year, much more time (15 years or so) elapses during the poem.

Thanks very much for reading!

I love how this Piece of writing unfolds, Centered around this one beautiful willow tree, and how time passes by accompanied by a loved one you are speaking to.
I like the metaphorical statements (Emerald Cave referring to a somewhat luscious green surrounding? ^^).
You can also sense the change of seasons, yet the willow tree is still comforting and always there, you have a really nice talent and i love this piece ^^.
I love how it also ends, a marriage done and this willow tree still stands tall overseeing your happiness!
( Somebody would be pissed off if the willow tree was cute)
I think you've done really well!
