Love [lŭv] n. ||A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness. Also an intense emotional attachment, as for a pet or treasured object.
Love really is all around us; no matter whether or not we are searching for it. Here, I have explored how the most common symbol of love - the heart - appears in nature and natural circumstances by showcasing beautiful work by artists here on deviantART. Are they there by chance, or have they been placed deliberately? Either way, they serve to remind us of the beauty in this world and our natural desire to find love. Who knows; maybe flora and other fauna feel it, too?
Animals ||The most obvious choice for heart shapes involving animals is swans; pure, graceful creatures who mate for life. They are a worldwide symbol of love, and these artists have managed to capture moments of beautiful emotion between swan pairs. Also shown here are a few photographs of natural heart markings on cats' noses; another lovely and rare sight.

:thumb73141745:Plants ||Although plants are living things, we don't generally think of them as beings with emotions. Despite this, they can be found creating countless symbols of love. Is this mutation, or a sumbliminal message to remind us that there are more types of love on our planet?

Weather ||Weather and the way in which it shapes our planet can have very drastic effects; but it's often the subtleties that make it so beautiful and fascinating. Here is a collection of great captures which brilliantly portray how weather on Earth spreads the message of love; even if it can occasionally bring destruction. Just like love itself, it's a wonder how anything so beautiful can also cause so much harm.

Shadows ||And finally; this has been done many a time, but I feel the natural shadow of a heart created by placing a ring in the centrefold of a book is a very interesting concept. For instance, it could portray a love of literature, or maybe simply show a love story. The ring is also important in the way that it is a representation of eternity; when exchanged in marriage ceremonies, the idea of everlasting love is reinforced. Therefore, here are a few of the best 'Lovestory' shots on dA:
